TheScreener was born from a fundamental frustration with modern retail investing tools: bloated interfaces, algorithmic noise, hidden assumptions, and slow, ad-ridden platforms. We set out to build the antithesis: an uncompromising, high-speed terminal for Indian equities.
Most financial screeners in India force investors to wade through sponsored stock tips, intrusive banner ads, gamified trading prompts, and sluggish spreadsheets. Vital ratios like DuPont ROE decompositions, ROCE stability, and pledged promoter share trends are either buried behind paywalls or obscured behind arbitrary scoring algorithms.
We believe that investors deserve raw, unmanipulated truth: exact mathematical definitions, transparent formulas, and instant execution.
No sponsored banners. No “hot pick of the day”. No speculative clickbait. Every pixel on screen earns its place by answering a specific question about business fundamentals.
We strictly adhere to an informational-only posture. We do not provide buy/sell signals or price predictions. We show you the audited financials, ratios, and trends; you make the decisions.
Built with a lean, server-rendered Next.js architecture, minimal dependencies, and instant Command Palette (⌘K) search. Everything responds at the speed of thought.
Every color token in our dual palette has mathematical WCAG contrast verification. Directional gain/loss indicators are paired with explicit textual signs (+ / −) for accessibility.
TheScreener is engineered with a battle-tested stack:

This platform wasn't built by a funded team with a runway to burn. It was built by one person who had failed enough times to stop being afraid of it. My path was never a straight line — a Manufacturing Engineer trained at NSIT, a student of Generative AI at IIT Roorkee, an MBA from the University of Western Australia. Three disciplines, three different ways of seeing a problem, and more dead-ends between them than I can neatly count. Ventures that didn't work. Bets that were too early, or simply wrong. Every one of them took something — and every one of them left a tool behind.
What survived each setback wasn't luck; it was a way of working. Discipline over motivation — showing up on the days it would have been easier not to. Evidence over opinion — no claim ships without a number behind it. Excellence as the floor, not the ceiling — refusing to release anything I wouldn't stake my own capital on. TheScreener is the compound interest of those lessons: an instrument I first wanted for myself, built to the standard I wish someone had held me to years earlier.
Finance analytics is where the engineer, the AI researcher, and the operator in me finally agree. Markets are ruthless with noise and generous with rigor — which makes them exactly the arena this work was made for. If this terminal saves you from one bad decision, or reveals one company the crowd overlooked, then every failure that taught me how to build it was worth the tuition.
These are published, externally defined academic models (not proprietary scoring we invented), computed directly from each company's reported financials.
A 0–9 checklist (Piotroski, 2000) across profitability, leverage/liquidity, and operating efficiency, with one point per criterion met. 7 or higher is considered fundamentally strong; 3 or lower, weak.
Altman's (1968) emerging-markets distress model, built from liquidity, retained earnings, profitability, and leverage ratios. Above 2.60 signals safety; below 1.10 signals bankruptcy risk.
An earnings-manipulation probability index built from accrual and growth ratios across consecutive annual reports. Below -1.78 signals low manipulation risk.
